Astica metal print by Lory MacDonald. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description
Astica is a Latin term for 'located in a city'. This work is a landscape view of an imaginary city - both ancient and futuristic. Somewhat inspired by Dr. Suess, one of my favorite children's book authors. I would love to live in a crazy art tower…..like some of the current modern skyscrapers around the world. I wonder if these architects were influenced by Dr. Suess or the Hungarian artist Hundertwasser?
About Lory MacDonald
Lory has explored many approaches to art making throughout her lifetime of painting and creating crafts. Recently, she has combined her skills and experience as a painter and craft artist to develop an exciting new series of paintings. The collection consists of 300 images produced from a set of drawings depicting imaginary worlds, trees, landscapes, flora, fauna, and creatures. The completed original pieces in the collection range in size from 12”x16” to 48”x60”. THE PROCESS These paintings draw upon skills that include: painting, sewing, jewelry making, decorating, paper mache sculpting, doll making, and hand painting glassware.
